Civil Construction Pipelayer (Caledon)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Civil Construction Pipelayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying and installing underground pipelines and utilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. The position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects in a dynamic environment, contributing to essential infrastructure development. Responsibilities - Have 3+ years experience as a pipelayer / grademan in the excavation and site servicing field. - Collaborate with the site servicing foremen and superintendent to ensure effective workflow. - Conduct regular inspections to guarantee work meets industry standards and project specifications. - Provide hands-on expertise in water and sewer construction, troubleshooting and problem solving. - Aligning pipes and checking grades during pipeline construction using pipe laser, and rotating laser. - Prepare tools and materials required for pipe installation, ensuring they are readily available when needed. - Measure and cut pipes accurately, ensuring proper fit and alignment during installation. - Pack around pipes as necessary to provide stability and support. - Attend and participate in Health and Safety meetings and trainings as required. - Able to follow direction and work unsupervised. - Knowledge with reading plans and use Trimble GPS equipment. - Excellent reporting and communication skills, written and verbal. - Safety-focused attitude. - Must have transportation and a valid G licence. Qualifications - Proven experience as a Pipelayer or in a similar civil construction role - Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications - Strong understanding of safety standards in construction environments - Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in confined or outdoor spaces Join our team to contribute to vital infrastructure projects while working in a safe and professional environment.
