Flagger/ Traffic Controller (Orangeville)

JOB SUMMARY Traffic Control Flaggers are required in Schomberg to monitor and control traffic at construction sites, industrial premises, and other controlled settings. They set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices in accordance with legal and operational requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES - Use hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites. - Communicate with other flaggers via hand‑held radios to direct two‑way traffic onto a single lane. - Inform the construction crew of any traffic issues that could affect safety. - Appropriately position warning and detour signs around construction sites. - Set up barricades and traffic cones along construction sites. - Remove all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work. REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS - Must have a Traffic Control Certificate (or be willing to take a $50 online course). - Must have own transportation (sites may be outside the city). - Must be comfortable with an on‑call role; shifts are not guaranteed. - Must have all required PPE. - Must be able to stand for long periods of time outside in all weather conditions. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $20.00/hour + 4% Vacation Payout weekly.
