Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 2nd Period Apprentice
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Major Work Area: Machinery installation, Maintenance, Repair
Area of Specialization: Assembling machinery and equipment, Installing machinery and equipment, Adjusting machinery and equipment, Troubleshooting
Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing, Metal fabrication, Steel industry
Type of Machinery or Equipment: Hoists and other lifting devices, Electrical and electronic controls, Lathes and other machining tools, Power tools, Hydraulic systems, Press brakes and metalworking equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
