Job Description Coordinator qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Assists other buyers in tracking purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Job Responsibilities & Requirements Job: Purchasing Coordinator I Location: Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2S9 Shift Times: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Responsibilities Assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services. Creates and maintains reports for tracking purchase orders. Communicates with other buyers and suppliers regarding the status of purchase orders. Updates ERP system with accurate information. Communicates with other departments regarding information and project status. Learn the PO entry process to support and eventually take over PO entry. Cooperates with the inventory specialist and material coordinator. Qualifications High School/GED required. Equivalent combination of experience and education that clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis. 1–2 years of experience in procurement at a manufacturing facility preferred. Able to use Microsoft Office applications. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required. Approximately 5% on‑site visits to vendors and other locations; local travel. This role is primarily performed in an office workplace where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used. The position may also require access to a factory and exposure to temperature changes, noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigating around factory machines.
