The Role As a ECE Level 3, you are the operational heart of our facility. You will oversight with hands-on mentorship, ensuring that our center remains a benchmark for quality in Alberta’s early learning landscape. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and their families by providing a nurturing and structured environment. Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Hands-On Classroom Leadership: Work directly in ratio as an active member of the classroom team, providing high-quality care, supervision, and engagement with children while modeling best practices in early learning and child development. - Leadership & Mentorship: Support and guide a diverse team of Level 1 and Level 2 educators through daily mentorship, coaching, and collaborative teamwork. Assist with staff training, onboarding, and team development while growing into a supervisory leadership role within the centre. - Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with the Government of Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Act and licensing regulations. Support the team in maintaining a safe, organized, and high-quality learning environment during daily operations and licensing inspections. - Program & Curriculum Oversight: Support the planning and implementation of educational and recreational programming that promotes children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Lead engaging classroom experiences while ensuring programming aligns with the centre’s philosophy and goals. - Inclusion & Family Collaboration: Work collaboratively with families, educators, and community partners to support individualized plans and inclusive practices for children of all abilities, including those requiring additional supports. - Operational Excellence: Assist with maintaining staff-to-child ratios, daily attendance, documentation, observations, and progress reporting. Demonstrate strong organizational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail in all aspects of classroom and centre operations What You Bring - Certification: Valid ECE Level 3 (Child Development Supervisor) Certification is mandatory. - Residency: This position is intended for candidates currently residing in Calgary or within the province of Alberta. - Experience & Knowledge: Deep understanding of current Alberta Licensing Regulations, the "Flight" curriculum framework, and developmental milestones. Proven experience in classroom settings or early childhood education environments. - Language: Proficiency in Spanish is considered a strong asset (Plus). - Skills: Exceptional teaching, crisis management, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. A compassionate caregiving approach combined with effective leadership abilities. - Safety: Current Child Care First Aid/CPR and a transparent Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (issued within the last 6 months).
