Retail Sales Associate/Cashier Summary The Retail Sales Associate/Cashier is a key front-line member of the Supply & Apply showroom team. This role is responsible for delivering fast, accurate, and friendly checkout experiences while maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. The Retail Sales Associate/Cashier ensures all transactions—retail and professional wholesale—are processed correctly according to company procedures. They also support the Retail Lead with day-to-day store operations, customer assistance, and maintaining the flow of the retail floor. The duties, responsibilities, scope, or reporting relationship of this Position may, from time to time, be amended, altered, or changed by the Employer to meet the business, administrative, or operational needs of the Employer. Any changes to the duties, responsibilities, scope, or reporting relationship that are within this job description will be updated as needed independently and without the need to formally amend any Agreements with the employee. Key Responsibilities 1. Checkout & Payment Processing (50–60%) - Accurately scan items, apply correct pricing, and process discounts. - Handle cash, debit/credit, and account payments. - Process wholesale transactions following pricing procedures. - Prepare invoices and receipts accurately. - Verify product quantities for bulk orders. - Attach warranty labels and explain policies. - Maintain organized records of all transactions. 2. Customer Service & In-Store Support (20–30%) - Greet customers and direct them to products or staff. - Assist customers with locating items. - Provide basic product information. - Support customer flow during busy periods. - Communicate issues or inquiries to the Retail Lead. 3. Store Operations & Retail Floor Maintenance (10–20%) - Maintain a clean and organized checkout counter. - Restock fast-moving items in the cash area. - Assist with labeling, facing, and light merchandising. - Support opening and closing procedures. - Maintain a safe and welcoming store setting. 4. Coordination with Other Departments (5–10%) - Communicate special orders to the Outbound Sales Team. - Notify Customer Service about returns or exchanges. - Collaborate with the Merchandising Lead for restocking. - Assist with pick-up orders and customer arrivals. Skills & Requirements The following are required in the position: · Ability to communicate in both English (written & verbal, minimum IELTS Score 8) · Previous experience in sales and customer service · Positive, friendly attitude with proven ability to establish rapport easily · Excellent sales skills with ability to communicate persuasively to promote, cross-sell, and upsell products · Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to adapt, multitask and prioritize duties accordingly · Strong awareness and recognition of sales opportunities and ability to secure transactions · Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and understanding when dealing with customers and co- workers · Ability to continuously learn, retain, and apply strong knowledge of product and inventory · Problem-solving skills, including the ability to follow return/exchange policies and effectively resolve customer grievances · Familiarity with POS software and operating cash register · Experience with cold-calling and customer acquisition Assets: - Experience in beauty or wholesale environments. - Familiarity with POS or inventory systems. - Prior cashier or retail customer service experience. - Interest in nails or beauty products. Physical Condition & Capabilities · This position may be required to lift and move boxes when assisting customers with product retrieval or at check-out (up to 25 lbs, 11 kg) Working Environment · Primarily based in indoor sales & showroom floor with prolonged periods of time spent standing/walking and working at a check-out till using scanners, computers, and payment machines - Fast-paced professional customer base. - Team-focused environment with cross-department collaboration.
