Construction Project Manager- Retail Services ServRite JBMD is one of Canada's leaders in retail interior construction and maintenance, servicing Canada's big box retailers from coast to coast. Our goal is to use leading construction and project management techniques to create the most customer-friendly retail environments. Hours and Location: We have a Full-Time Salary position available based in Toronto area with expected travel throughout the City and province. You must be available to work weekends and have the flexibility to work various shifts including early morning and night shifts based on business requirements. Typically work assignments will take place on the sales floor in a retail store environment in big box stores overnight. Responsibilities: · Review and execute the scope of work on the assigned project and ensure timely completion. · Troubleshoot and resolve issues on site with the required parts and instructions provided. · Identify and troubleshoot problems on site. Responsibility for all aspects of project implementation ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget; · Oversee and manage performance of sub-contractors and project team consisting of approx. 10-20. · Responsible to manage changes to the project critical path and ensure changes are communicated; · Lead all project related communication with customer head office, store management, store staff and teams. Front face of company in relationship with customers. Daily electronic reporting on project status; · Accurate and timely progress/issue reporting both internally and to customers; · Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills to overcome issues to ensure project stays on track. Whenever necessary “jump in on tools” to support the project and team; · Identify project risks and take corrective actions to mitigate impact Requirements: · Prior construction experience in retail environment preferred. Knowledge of retail racking and fixtures, seismic and provincial installation as well as reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and construction documents an advantage. · Confident using computers and other mobile devices for reporting, surveying and time tracking; · Access to a vehicle for work purposes; a valid G driver’s license and a clean driving record. Big box as well as boutique locations. We work on the sales floor as well as in the stockroom at retail locations. Much of the work will also be completed in a warehouse type of setting. Safety gear and PPE will be standard due to the changing environments going from stores to warehouse types of sites. MUST be willing to work overnight as needed as most of our jobs are working from 9pm to 5 am. Physical Requirements: · This position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance. Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds from the floor to waist or chest high. Product resets can be very physical in nature.
