Key Responsibilities: - Operate a variety of mulching equipment, such as mulching machines, mulchers, skid steers, chippers, or tractors with mulching attachments, under high voltage power lines. - Ensure that equipment is used properly and safely, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols - Clear unwanted brush, trees, or overgrown vegetation using mulching machines, which chop and break down material into small mulch. - Work on land clearing projects to prepare sites for current construction, landscaping, or forestry management. - Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the equipment, including checking fluid levels, cleaning the equipment, and ensuring it operates efficiently. - Report any mechanical issues to supervisors or maintenance teams. - Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around the work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways. - Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. - Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. - Other duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Expectations: - Valid class 3 driver’s license, and current Drivers Abstract with less than 6 demerits. - Have Airbrake endorsement or be willing to obtain. - Applicant must pass pre-employment drug and screening. - Valid First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain. - Experience operating heavy equipment such as tandem axel grapple truck, Sennebogen equipment, and chainsaw. - Experience in working around hazardous equipment. - Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments, lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. - Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills. - Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE. - Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
