We're looking for a skilled and motivated Data Communications Technician to join our dynamic team. Job Overview: As a Data Communications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data communication systems, including wired and wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for our clients. Key Responsibilities · Experience with Fiber Optic Cabling is required. Ability to terminate mechanical fiber connectors, the ability to fusion splice fiber along with the ability to perform testing using OTDR and Power Meter. · Install, terminate, and test copper cabling systems (25 Pair, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a,). · Run projects as a working foreman including the ability to manage crews, delegate tasks and teach up and coming talent. · Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety standards, and new technologies. · Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of structured cabling systems (fiber optics, Ethernet, etc.). · Perform advanced troubleshooting of network infrastructure and data systems. · Plan and schedule project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality. · Ensure proper installation of cables, racks, patch panels, and network hardware according to industry standards. · Test, label, and document completed work accurately using specialized tools (e.g., cable testers, OTDRs). · Install cameras and setup NVR’s. · Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards. · The ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure and the ability to think on your feet. · Close coordination and communication with estimating and project management team. · Day to day manpower and equipment coordination and reconciliation. · Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. · Coordinate with the site coordinators or general superintendents. Qualifications · Highly organized, detail orientated, and an ability to multi-task. · Successful applicants may be required to provide a clean driver's abstract and be willing to complete a criminal records background check. · Ability to work in various environments, including commercial buildings, data centers, and outdoor sites. · Strong Leadership skills to motivate and manage a team. · Professionalism in client/contractor relations. · Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. - Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions. - Capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
