Purchasing Assistant (Calgary)

Job Description: We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our growing procurement team. Working alongside 5 existing buyers, you will provide critical data entry and administrative support. This role is a perfect stepping stone for someone eager to learn and grow their career into a full Buyer or Logistics role. Key Responsibilities Data Entry & Processing: Process high volumes of data quickly and accurately using Microsoft Word and Excel. Email Correspondence: Manage a high-volume inbox, handling 50-60 emails daily alongside occasional phone calls. System Maintenance: Assist with data entry and information tracking using the AS400 ERP system. Team Support: Support the purchasing team with daily administrative tasks, ensuring high accuracy and organization. Workflow Management: Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to meet daily deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Logistics/transportation industry Experience with high volume emails (50-60 per day) Experience making calculations for truckloads Inventory control Cutting PO''s Soft skills: Patience (this position is a catch all/lots of errors that they will be correcting from other teams/can be very frustrating) Detail orientated Can manage multiple tasks Experience working with AS400 ERP system.
