Senior Electrical Designer Calgary

Overview Our oil and gas producer client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Designer to support a major capital project. This contract opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in large-scale industrial environments, particularly within oil & gas or heavy industry. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical design deliverables for complex projects Produce and review layouts, schematics, and 3D models using MicroStation and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, and project management Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into final deliverables Support project execution from design through construction phases Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of electrical design experience, ideally in oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors Demonstrated experience working on major/large-scale projects Robust proficiency in: MicroStation and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) Experience working within established client standards and specifications is an asset Strong understanding of electrical design principles, codes, and industry best practices Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting Additional Requirements: Must be based in or able to work in Calgary Open to attending in-person interviews Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience Why Apply: This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project and work alongside a robust, collaborative technical team in a dynamic environment.
