Overview Jereh Canada is hiring a Power Generation Electrical Engineer based onsite in Calgary. This role supports Canadian customers and internal teams with engineering problem solving, technical sales support, project coordination, and evaluation of current and emerging market needs across Canada. The ideal candidate has an electrical engineering background with practical experience in power generation systems and equipment, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance improvement. Key Responsibilities Engineering Support - Provide engineering support for power generation systems and electrical equipment including troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective action planning. - Support commissioning and startup activities including functional testing, performance checks, and technical documentation. - Interpret and review drawings and technical documents including single line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and vendor manuals. - Develop field deliverables such as test plans, commissioning checklists, work packages, and closeout documentation. Technical Sales Support - Partner with Sales to support customer meetings, site walkdowns, requirement gathering, and solution definition. - Develop technical scopes of work, execution plans, assumptions, exclusions, and bill of materials inputs for proposals and quotations. - Present technical solutions to customers across engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement, and HSE stakeholders. - Support technical review of customer specifications and vendor documentation to ensure fit and feasibility. Project Management and Execution Support - Support or lead execution coordination including kickoff planning, scheduling, progress tracking, issue tracking, and documentation control. - Coordinate internal teams, field resources, subcontractors, and vendors to support safe execution and milestone delivery. - Maintain structured project records including meeting notes, action logs, change tracking, and closeout packages. Canadian Market Needs and Solutions Assessment - Evaluate current and emerging needs for power generation solutions across Canada and across multiple industries. - Identify industry specific applications and recommend solution approaches for segments such as oil and gas, utilities, industrial manufacturing, construction, mining, data centers, remote power, and emergency backup power. - Provide technical input that strengthens market readiness including recommended configurations, applications guidance, and capability summaries. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. - 5 plus years of experience supporting power generation equipment, systems, or projects in an engineering, field engineering, service engineering, or technical project role. - Practical experience with power generation and electrical equipment such as generators, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, controls, UPS systems, and balance of plant. - Experience supporting commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, or reliability improvement in power generation environments. - Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single line diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. - Strong customer facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally. - Ability to work onsite in Calgary with travel across Canada as required. - Valid driver’s license and ability to meet customer site access and safety requirements. Desired Qualifications - Experience with protection and controls including relay logic, settings support, and troubleshooting. - Experience supporting generator packages, gas turbine systems, or reciprocating engine driven power systems. - Familiarity with Canadian electrical standards and practices including CSA and applicable provincial requirements. - Project coordination or project management experience including schedule tracking and field execution support. - Experience supporting Canadian customer applications in oil and gas, utilities, mining, industrial, remote power, or emergency backup power. - Strong Excel skills and structured reporting capability; familiarity with Power BI is an asset. Work Environment - Onsite role based in Calgary, Alberta. - Travel to customer sites across Canada as needed.
