Description Sessional Instructor, EDER 678.02 Behaviour Assessment & Intervention, Graduate Programs in Education, Werklund School of Education, Fall 2026 Position Type: Term Certain < 12 months Education Required: PhD or EdD Application Deadline: June 9, 2026 The Werklund School of Education, Graduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Fall 2026 in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education. The term runs from August 24 to December 18, 2026. Visit the Academic Calendar for complete academic dates. Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in both online and on campus formats. Its programs are characterized by a strong learner focus, flexibility, technological innovation, and responsiveness to community desire for accreditation, certification, lifelong learning, and rigorous scholarship. EDER 678.02 - Behaviour Assessment & Intervention Delivery: Online In this course, students will learn how to conduct a functional behavioural assessment in their classroom using observation and interviewing. Students will create a behavioural support plan for their classroom. Key ideas and topics: - Understanding Behavioural Principles - Functional Behavioural Assessment - Conducting Observations and Interviews in Your Classroom - Interpreting Data - Preparing Behavioural Support Plans - Small Group Interventions - Working with IPPs and LSPs - Progress Monitoring Position Requirements: Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences. Desired qualifications include: - A completed doctorate in education or a related area. - Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings. - Demonstrated experience in online/distance education. - Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. - Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research are considered assets for the sessional teaching positions.
