Seeking Assistant Store Manager! (Calgary)

Role Overview Assistant Store Manager at East Lake, Calgary SE. Reports to the Store Manager and assists in supervising and facilitating the daily operations of the store to meet business objectives. Responsibilities - Provide assistance to store management in supervising daily operations, including staff scheduling, supervision, and customer service. - Ensure product quality assurance, store maintenance, and health and safety compliance. - Oversee the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, including key personnel management tasks such as interviews, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when requested. - Provide direction, guidance, and instruction to all store associates as required. - Maintain store conditions to established standards and liaise with various departments to ensure accurate communication of expectations. - Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct for other staff. - Handle customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual when necessary. - Assist in inventory management and ensure that company policy and relevant legislation are consistently adhered to. - Manage shift scheduling, including overnight, holiday, and weekend shifts, as business needs dictate. Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the retail industry. - Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a retail setting. - Skills in monitoring and assessing staff performance. - Basic office administration skills. - High proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite. - Excellent time management, prioritizing, and communication skills (verbal and written) at all organizational levels. - Strong customer service, troubleshooting, teamwork, and team‑building skills. - Valid First Aid certification is considered an asset. Work Conditions - Full time, permanent position. - Ability to work any shift, Monday to Sunday, including nights, holidays, weekends, and different locations as needed.
