Piping Designer (Calgary)

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support complex design initiatives within the oil & gas sector. This role will focus on 3D modeling, piping layout development, and multidisciplinary coordination , leveraging industry-standard tools such as CADWorx and AutoCAD Plant 3D . You will play a critical role in translating P&IDs; into accurate, high-quality designs , ensuring proper equipment spacing and alignment across engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities Develop and modify 3D piping models and layouts using CADWorx and Plant 3D Interpret and apply Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) into design outputs Ensure proper equipment layout, spacing, and system integration Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, electrical, etc.) Maintain high standards of accuracy, constructability, and design quality Work independently while contributing to a collaborative engineering environment Required Qualifications 5–15 years of experience in oil & gas or industrial design Strong proficiency with CADWorx and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D Proven experience in piping layout and 3D modeling Solid understanding of equipment spacing and design principles Ability to read and interpret P&IDs; Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams Compensation $30/hr to $45/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
