Description
Overview We are hiring a Sales Manager at Dorian, Autograph Collection Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Downtown and the Element by Westin Calgary Downtown. The role is to develop and foster business for the hotel through proactive and reactive sales efforts, maintain existing business, find recent business and saturate existing accounts and/or segments. Responsibilities - Provide the highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients at all times. - Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers, delivering clear communication that represents Concord Hospitality across all channels. - Demonstrate excellent time management, self‑motivation, and proactive planning with a keen focus on detail. - Maintain existing assigned accounts and segments while diligently developing new business for hotels. - Monitor and manage all aspects of pre‑event, event, and post‑event details, tracking, detailing, and communicating the particulars of each assigned account, group, or event. - Collaborate with internal and external partners to forecast group rooms and F&B; revenues, understanding conditions and strategies that maximize released space, rooms, and hotel revenue. - Consistently attain sales activity goals and individual revenue goals, including proactive and reactive calls, tours, and appointments as outlined by Concord, the RVPSM, and the Area Director of Sales & Marketing. - Learn and use digital sales systems and conceptual sales processes (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, PMS, sales call process) and apply the hotel’s sales strategies (e.g., Marketing Plan, rates, budgeted goals). - Participate in industry and networking events to promote the hotel as required. - Attend related industry events, conduct personal sales calls and presentations, and travel when necessary. Qualifications - Minimum of two years of experience selling in a hospitality or tourism environment, preferably in a hotel. - Graduate or degree holder in a Hospitality or Tourism program. - Outstanding work ethic with a track record of reliability, punctuality, and an approachable demeanor. - Strong commitment to safety and a results‑oriented mentality, passionate about achieving goals through planning and targeted sales activities. - Exceptional problem‑solving skills, capable of troubleshooting and resolving situations efficiently. - Agile and able to shift priorities as needed. - Ability to work well under pressure in a quick‑paced environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, valuing teamwork and collaboration. - Physically able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time. - Able to attend industry or client events, sometimes during evenings or weekends.
