Description
Project Procurement Specialist Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Procurement Specialist in the Energy Sector in Calgary, Alberta. This role is critical in ensuring procurement strategies are aligned with complex project execution requirements, with a strong focus on EPC environments, contractor management, and construction procurement. Responsibilities - Develop and execute project procurement strategies aligned with construction scope, schedule, and budget - Lead sourcing activities for construction contractors, EPC packages, equipment, and project services - Manage RFx processes, including bidder prequalification, bid evaluation, and contractor selection - Structure and negotiate construction and EPC contracts, ensuring clear scope, deliverables, and risk allocation - Support bid leveling, scope definition, and commercial evaluations for major construction packages - Identify and mitigate risks related to contract fragmentation, change orders, delays, and interface management - Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to align procurement with project execution - Monitor supplier and contractor performance, including expediting, delivery, claims, and contract closeout Qualifications - 15+ years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on project and construction procurement - Proven experience supporting or leading procurement for major capital or construction projects - Strong expertise in EPC contracts, construction services, and equipment procurement - Deep understanding of contracting models (lump sum, unit rate, T&M;, EPC/turnkey) - Experience working with construction contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders - Ability to identify and manage construction-related risks (scope gaps, interface risks, change orders, schedule impacts) - Proven experience leading complex negotiations and contractor sourcing processes - Proficiency with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or equivalent Additional Qualifications - Professional designations (SCMP, CPSM, PMP) are considered strong assets - Experience supporting large, multi-million-dollar capital projects or greenfield developments - Familiarity with claims management, dispute resolution, and contract administration in construction environments - Experience working in regulated, safety-focused, and compliance-driven industry procurement practices Benefits - $77.00 hourly - Prospect to support large‑scale energy and infrastructure construction projects - Direct exposure to EPC contracting, construction teams, and project leadership - Influence high‑value procurement decisions in complex project environments - Hands‑on involvement in contract strategy, risk management, and execution - Work within a collaborative, cross‑functional project environment - High level of ownership and autonomy within project teams - Opportunity to build experience on major capital projects with a leading energy company Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2prrzl
