Product Manager – Collateral Management Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid onsite) Employment type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager with deep expertise in collateral management, margin processes, and regulatory frameworks to drive product strategy, system enhancements, and operational efficiency across our collateral platforms. The role requires strong collaboration with Front Office, Treasury, Risk, and Technology teams to deliver scalable solutions that optimize collateral usage and ensure compliance with global regulations. Key Responsibilities - Exposure & Margin Management - Analyze daily counterparty exposures across OTC derivatives, repos, securities lending, and prime brokerage portfolios. - Support the calculation and validation of Initial Margin (IM), Variation Margin (VM), and collateral calls. - Investigate margin disputes, exposure breaks, and collateral shortfalls. - Collateral Optimization & Inventory - Evaluate collateral eligibility, haircuts, and optimization rules to improve funding efficiency. - Partner with Treasury and Front Office to design collateral allocation strategies. - Monitor collateral inventory, concentration risks, and usage trends. - Regulatory & Control Framework - Interpret and support compliance with UMR, EMIR, Dodd‑Frank, and Basel III/IV rules. - Contribute to regulatory reporting, audits, and model validation. - Maintain documentation for processes, controls, and governance standards. - Technology & Data Enablement - Translate business needs into functional requirements for collateral systems (e.g., Acadia, Murex, Calypso). - Support system enhancements, testing, and implementation. - Perform data analysis, reconciliations, and root cause investigations. - Partner with Technology to improve automation, data quality, and efficiency. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in collateral management, margining, or risk management within financial services. - Robust knowledge of derivatives, repos, securities lending, and prime brokerage. - Familiarity with collateral platforms (Acadia, Murex, Calypso, or in‑house engines). - Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (UMR, EMIR, Dodd‑Frank, Basel III/IV). - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills. - Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and deliver technology‑enabled solutions. Preferred Skills - Experience in collateral optimization strategies and funding efficiency projects. - Solid background in data analytics and automation tools. - Ability to manage global stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
