Our extensive knowledge, capabilities, and experience enable us to support projects in commercial, healthcare, transportation, light industrial, and data centre sectors.Reporting to the Director, Major Pursuits (Calgary), the Electrical Engineer will use their engineering and design experience to support the Major Pursuits Team in various activities including electrical and communications system design and collaboration with external consultants, owners, and trades. The Electrical Engineer will have the ability to manage conflicting priorities and will support other business units within Canem. It is preferred that this position will be based out of Calgary, Alberta, however, other Canem office locations will be considered equally.# What You Will Be Working On## Project Responsibilities* Review and understand project technical requirements and applicable regulatory requirements* Develop detailed design schedules that are coordinated with the overall project schedule* Collaboration with consultant and contractor teams* Use engineering experience to develop BOMs for all electrical, communication, and LV systems* Coordinate with vendors and other parties and provide information in a timely manner to avoid delay with the design process* Work with Business Development staff to construct and maintain relationships with clients, design consultants, and other stakeholders. Provide value engineering reviews## ## Execution Ensure that design policies and procedures are followed* Identify project and construction risks* Produce schematic level analysis of the electrical and IMIT systems* Work with consultants to develop a lean compliant design for electrical and IMIT systems* Work with suppliers to source cost effective solutions* Support estimator with material take-offs* Attend collaborative design meetings with Project teams* Contribute to the continuous improvement of Canem’s pursuit process maps and risk management tools* Monitor the compliance and contractual obligations and identify risks* Monitor ongoing design efforts to ensure compliance and cost-effective design* Contribute to the development of the BIM Execution Plan* Audit the design documents against the requirements, ensuring they are compliant and meet industry quality standards* Provide support to the Construction team as required# What We Offer* Competitive salary and industry leading benefits, including health spending account and company matching pension program* 1 week off with pay between Christmas and New Years* Ongoing support for your growth and development, including mentoring programs, training opportunities, and continuing education support* An active social club that promotes social activities in and outside the office# What We Are Looking For* Minimum 5 years experience in electrical construction projects* Minimum 3 years experience working as an electrical designer on Design-Build or other collaborative type projects* Experience on HCF projects is an asset* Degree in Electrical Engineering* Current knowledge of electrical, building and municipal codes and regulations* Excellent knowledge of industry products, practices and standards* Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adaptable* Strong organizational abilities and demonstrated attention to detail* Robust verbal and written communication skills* Strong time management skills, specifically the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize* Ability to obtain PSPC Secret level clearance is considered an asset # Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2psa5c
