As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development, coordination and execution of Calgary Transit's strategic initiatives and transformation projects. Primary duties include: - Lead projects and project teams to deliver new initiatives, such as continuous improvement recommendations, business plans and objectives, and process and technology improvements. - Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, feasibility, planning, budgeting, engagement, implementation and post-project evaluation. - Determine project scope and prepare project and work plans, schedules and budgets. - Identify resources required and coordinate the gathering and validation of business requirements from various subject matter experts from different business areas. - Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of project team members. - Train, mentor and coach team members. - Define and ensure the project team clearly understands the vision, scope and project deliverables. - Monitor the activities of the project team, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules and identify critical paths and barriers to proactively resolve issues and mitigate risk. - Communicate key project milestones, status updates, risks and mitigation strategies to the project sponsors and leadership. Provide recommendations and gain approval for change requests regarding deliverables, budget or schedule extensions. - Engage and facilitate meetings and presentations with internal teams, external partners and project governance groups. Qualifications - A degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in areas such as overseeing and supporting projects to successful completion or related. - A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered an asset. - A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR a valid Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending is an asset. - Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget. - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing and competing priorities. Pre-employment Requirements - Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Workstyle - This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
