Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow We are looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our highly qualified team of specialists who provides detailed engineering and project management on numerous bridge design projects. Your primary task in our team will be to liaise with clients, technical staff, accounting staff, and other support staff to coordinate overall project deliverables, schedules, and budgets. You will plan and develop engineering projects including the definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, development of concepts and approaches, and making key technical decisions. Your key responsibilities will be to: - Direct teams of engineers and technicians producing drawings and calculations along with supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of other engineers - Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets - Perform structural analysis, design, evaluation and be responsible for the preparation of calculations and drawings - Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications, under applicable design codes along with engineering reports and other technical documents - Research and review design options for both technical and financial impact - Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed Your skills. On top of that, you will have: - A master's degree in Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience - Experience in bridge projects with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the City of Edmonton, and the City of Calgary - Proven technical expertise, demonstrated experience supervising tasks in bridge design and construction, and working knowledge of modern bridge design codes - A Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in Alberta, or can obtain - Experience with 3D structural modeling with analysis software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA - Experience with preparing proposals, and the ability to develop business development activities A place to work and so much more At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
