Pet Shop Retail Associates (Southeast Calgary)

Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Pet shop Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. As a Pet Shop Retail Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in enhancing the customer experience, driving sales, and promoting our products effectively. Responsibilities - Absolute customer service – friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable, excellent with people, and a desire to get to know customers and meet their needs - Able to work in a fast paced environment while creating a welcoming atmosphere through attitude, spirit, and enthusiasm - Acknowledge every customer that walks through our door - Sales and service on the floor; building customer relationships using knowledge of products and services that are concerned with the well-being of our customer’s pets - Customer carry outs - Handle customer requests for information or product; follow-up with that customer until the transaction is complete - Participation in promotional/advertising campaigns as directed by Pet Planet management - Ensure all shelves are clean and dusted, including all stock on the shelves and hanging on pegboard - Ensure products are pulled from the stock room constantly – this is a task done many times daily. Stock room must be kept as clean and organized as any shelf in the store - Ensure all closeout procedures are followed every night. Activities include emptying garbage, sweeping and thoroughly mopping the floors, vacuuming rugs, wiping down the counters and computer equipment Qualifications - Previous experience in pet retail an asset is preferred . - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. - Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash registers. - Ability to learn quickly about new products and technologies. - A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
