Civil Design Technologist / Civil Designer (Calgary)

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Civil Design Technologist / Civil Designer to support major industrial and heavy‑industrial site development projects. In this role, you will develop and coordinate detailed 2D and 3D civil design deliverables, including earthworks modeling, grading, stormwater systems, underground utilities, and industrial access infrastructure. Working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will play a key role in ensuring civil designs are constructible, coordinated, and aligned with overall engineering intent while meeting aggressive project schedules. Location: Calgary, AB Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 1‑year contract Benefits - Paid weekly accurate and on time - Strong health and safety programs - Medical and dental perks once qualified - Free training programs - New and quicker onboarding process Responsibilities - Develop and coordinate detailed civil design deliverables for large industrial site development projects - Produce coordinated 2D and 3D civil design packages for earthworks, site grading, stormwater infrastructure, drainage systems, utilities, and access roads - Create, manage, and maintain accurate surface models, corridors, and grading designs - Ensure designs align with engineering intent, constructability requirements, and site constraints - Coordinate civil layouts with structural foundations, process plant layouts, electrical corridors, and other discipline designs - Identify, resolve, and document design clashes and coordination issues through collaboration with engineers and multidisciplinary teams - Perform quantity extraction and model‑based takeoffs to support earthworks, servicing, and construction planning - Incorporate iterative design changes efficiently while maintaining model integrity and drawing quality - Support multidisciplinary coordination activities, including design reviews and model coordination meetings - Prepare and maintain construction‑ready drawings and documentation under tight timelines and evolving project requirements Qualifications and Skills - Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline - Typically 4-8 years of experience in civil design, preferably on industrial, heavy industrial, or large‑scale site development projects - Strong proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD, with demonstrated experience in surface modeling and grading design - Proven experience producing coordinated 2D and 3D civil designs for: - Earthworks and grading - Stormwater and drainage systems - Underground utilities and service corridors - Industrial access roads and site infrastructure - Solid understanding of constructability, industrial site constraints, and multidisciplinary coordination - Experience with quantity extraction and model‑based takeoffs - Ability to manage multiple design iterations and meet aggressive project deadlines - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with engineers and technical teams - Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ptwcc
