Responsibilities
Maintain and update project cost control systems and coding structures using standard Ausenco tools to monitor and report on trends, scope changes, commitments, payments, forecasts, and budget variances. Reconcile cost activities from internal teams, consultants, and third parties to ensure accurate and comprehensive project reporting. Support the preparation of periodic progress reports for engineering, procurement, and construction phases using earned value management (EVM) methodologies. Assist in developing periodic cash flow forecasts and staffing (manning) reports. Monitor project performance across cost, schedule, and progress metrics to provide transparent, data‑driven assessments to management. Track and manage scope changes, maintaining the scope change database and analyzing impacts against the control budget. Support internal reviews and continuous improvement efforts related to project operations and performance reporting. Collaborate with the Lead Planner to maintain accurate and up to date project schedules in Primavera P6 across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases. Ensure schedule activities are appropriately coded according to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and integrated with control systems for effective progress and forecast analysis. Assist Estimators with the conversion of cost estimates into capital control budgets. Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of project control procedures, particularly those related to cost control. Provide skilled support to the Project Services team in preparing project control deliverables and documentation. Perform other project controls related tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications
Technical or engineering background with a diploma or degree in engineering or project management. 10–15 years of experience in planning/cost control or project control on heavy industrial, mining, studies, and/or EPCM projects. Good knowledge of Hexagon PPM Software (Ecosys, SDx, SMAT) and Oracle E‑Business. Strong and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Willingness to travel to the project site on a regular basis. Strong conceptual and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and team‑playing skills. Salary range: $136,000 – $175,000 annually. Location: Hybrid (remote and onsite).
