At our Cambridge Facility, we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment companies. We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, assembly department, and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.
Compensation Range:
$23.03 up to $34.53 hourly
Job Summary As a welder, the incumbent is responsible for following detailed schematics or blueprints to weld, fit, and finish specific components and materials to meet customer requirements and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
Able to weld with GMAW>AW to the required specifications. (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel)
Communicate and work with co-workers to develop fixture concepts.
Perform welding and grinding duties as required.
Work independently or as a team member.
Work from complex drawings.
Ensure all parts are prefabricated correctly to meet customer specifications
Work in a safe manner by following all Occupational Health&Safety Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures.
Perform other duties as defined and assigned by the department supervisor or lead hand.
Comply and perform all duties with the organizational set of standards.
Initiate and continually strive for maximum production efficiency and attention to detail.
Document and complete Quality reports.
Maintain a clean and organized working area.
Upon completion of assigned work, ensure adequate clean-up and inspection of all weldments and fabricated parts as required.
Knowledge of welding process and set-up.
WHMIS and MSDS knowledge of all substances
Educational Requirements
Grade Twelve education or equivalent.
Strong Math Skills must be able to apply the measuring and testing equipment required for the job.
Welding ability must meet accurate and detailed work requirements and guidelines.
Required Skills&Expertise
Ability to operate torch cutting, grinding equipment, and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Ability to pass all weld tests, including AWS Weld Test (Flat / Horizontal Fillets&Groove) on a variety of selected materials.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
Overhead Crane Training and experience with other lifting equipment.
