Description
Summary The Procurement Planner is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components and sub-assemblies are delivered to the Cambridge production sites to support production needs at optimal efficiency. This role manages material planning, deploys inventory strategies, coordinates product changes, and drives supplier execution while monitoring supply constraints and production schedules. The planner uses MRP/ERP tools to create supply requirements, elevate issues, and pursue continuous improvement across procurement and inventory processes. Responsibilities - Define manufacturing component needs from production plans, stock, lead times and stock policies. - Create and deploy supply requirements via MRP and monitor open POs for on-time delivery. - Expedite or defer orders and manage inter-company material flows to maintain production continuity. - Resolve PO issues, invoice discrepancies, returns and supplier quality problems. - Determine optimal inventory levels, set system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stock). - Coordinate material flows for product/BOM changes, engineering changes and new product launches. - Build and maintain operational supplier partnerships, support recent supplier onboarding and local sourcing initiatives. - Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering or similar. - Minimum 5 years experience in a supply chain role for a direct manufacturer. - Applied expertise in forecasting, MRP/ERP, inventory management, bills of material and procure-to-pay processes. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, forecasting and risk management skills; ability to use data to inform decisions. - Experience with supplier development, contract management and continuous improvement methodologies. - Fluent English required; French and/or German an asset.
