Title and Authority Job Title: Field Service Technician - Millwright Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Technical Services Manager. This role has no supervisory or managerial authority and no direct reports. Service work and tasks are assigned by the Service Coordinator. General Description of the Role The Service Technician - Millwright is a trained professional engaged in performing and ensuring successful field installation and equipment maintenance. Technicians are responsible for the field operation, troubleshooting, repair, and client training of devices in an assigned location. They may also include training the company maintenance team or other key colleagues on how to perform equipment maintenance. Role Accountabilities - Working with customers to ensure smooth installation and maintenance of equipment including scheduling and maintaining project coordination details to meet timelines and budgets. - Acting as the main point of contact for customers with regards to installation and maintenance of equipment purchased. - Acting a Liasson with internal departments and external customers, troubleshooting and problem solving any issues that arise during the ordering and installation phase of the project. - Upselling and making recommendations to existing clients to support increased sales of parts and equipment. - Quality Assurance/Quality Control of field data and conducting follow-up data integrity reviews. Specific Tasks - Conduct product training to customers to aid with upkeep and proper maintenance of the purchased equipment. - Travel to customer sites to ensure installation projects are running smoothly and providing support and service as needed to ensure customer satisfaction. - Project planning to ensure all parts, equipment and services are in place to complete the job on budget. - Managing the costing and job budgets to meet customer specifications. - Supporting applications specialists as required - Operate a company vehicle, keeping exact records of mileage, maintenance and conducting daily safety inspections before and after use. - Perform all tasks as per the Millwright job description. - Other duties as assigned. Skills and Experience Required skills – you are: - Fluent in English both written and oral. - Able to work effectively and productively without close supervision. - Attentive to details and you produce accurate work. - Punctual and reliable. - Proficient with computers generally and the Microsoft Office suite of products. - Able to influence without authority - Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Someone with excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively. - Are extremely detail oriented and consistently produce quality work. - Able to safely lift 50lbs unassisted. Required experience / qualifications — you have: - 3+ years’ experience with industrial equipment, ideally in a manufacturing environment - Experience and are mechanically inclined. - A flexible and adaptable team player attitude who is service oriented. - A valid class G driver’s license, be fully insured and in good standing. Desirable experience / qualifications—you may have: - ·Worked in a manufacturing industry. - Secondary school graduation diploma and qualification as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright typically acquired through the completion of the required 8000-hour apprenticeship. Other: - This role requires you to be away from home for days at a time.
