Senior Cloud Network Engineer The Senior Cloud Network Engineer’s responsibility is to design, implement and manage scalable, secure, and high‑performance hybrid cloud network architectures. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal operation and security of cloud enterprise‑class hybrid networks, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of the organization’s IT infrastructure both on‑premises and across a multi‑cloud hybrid footprint. Lead the design and architecture of recent network infrastructure initiatives. Serve as the technical network lead on high‑visibility incidents, supporting users in resolving existing system problems. Support migration projects, including implementation, action planning, configuration, and deployment while considering business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security requirements, governance, and recovery objectives. Coordinate with the security team to document and implement network security principles and guidelines. Lead the design, maintenance, and administration of computer networks, including LAN, WLAN, cloud, and VPN. Administer and maintain network security components such as firewalls, WAF, and NAC. Create and maintain network architecture design documents for new and existing objectives. Maximize network performance by monitoring activity and using observability tools such as Dynatrace and Azure monitoring. Design, deploy and maintain on‑premise, Microsoft Azure and AWS network infrastructure. Construct and engineer networking solutions based on architectural designs. Share best practices and provide coaching to teams supporting networking environments. Collaborate with IT operations, cloud centre of excellence, architecture and security teams to ensure efficient and secure implementation of cloud network services. Collaborate with the product team to deliver solutions using modern DevSecOps tools and best practices, taking ownership of application deployment and configuration management. Support and maintain Azure and AWS network infrastructure. Use Terraform to deploy all Azure and AWS networking resources. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. Automate, deploy, manage, and maintain Azure and AWS cloud‑based networking. Ensure availability, performance, security and scalability of Azure and AWS networking infrastructure. Establish and configure production monitoring metrics and logging using Dynatrace and native Azure and AWS services. Perform technical lead duties when designing new network infrastructure and architecture initiatives. Design and administer virtual network components in the cloud. Define system requirements and architecture by collaborating with server, storage, network, database, and application teams. Document diagrams, policies and procedures for newly deployed systems and review annually. Provide strategic and architectural guidance related to general networking and network security. Disaster Recovery and Network Business Continuity Coordinate, plan and implement network security measures to protect data, software and hardware. Partner with infrastructure architects on network design objectives. Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection systems. Coordinate with security team on network security principles and guidelines. Administer and maintain network security components such as firewalls, WAF and NAC. Work closely with other IT teams to integrate cloud network solutions with existing systems and applications. Serve as the technical network lead on high‑visibility incidents and support users in resolving system problems. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software and other network problems including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and VPN concentrators. Provide strategic and architectural guidance on general networking and network security. Maximize network performance by monitoring activity and using observability tools such as Dynatrace and Azure monitoring. Serve as on‑call network engineer for after‑hours escalation issues as part of the on‑call rotation. Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes and procedures. Undergraduate degree in Information Technology/Networking with CCNP, CCIE and AZ‑700 or AZ‑104 certification; Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco networking. Minimum 4 years of experience in AWS and Azure networking. Minimum 3 years of DevOps experience. Minimum 5 years of in‑depth understanding of IP networking (routing, protocols, switching, addressing, security, monitoring, wireless, LAN, layer 2/3, QoS). Minimum 5 years of in‑depth understanding of high‑availability, disaster recovery, multi‑site architecture, data centre design, virtualization, network security, bandwidth design, firewall, load‑balancing and traffic management technology. Minimum 5 years of operational and deployment experience with firewalls and VPNs on those platforms. Minimum 5 years of experience in performance monitoring, WAN optimisation, DMZ deployment, Linux and network switching. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
