The Sign Language Interpreter collaborates closely with education professionals to facilitate communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. You will interpret both in classrooms and at various events, ensuring effective communication and reinforcing students' educational programs. The role involves adapting the sign language mode and preparing for assignments while supporting social skill development for students.

Key Responsibilities:• Facilitate communication among students and staff • Prepare for interpreting assignments by reviewing materials • Interpret during extracurricular activities and community events • Work collaboratively with educational teams • Monitor and report on student’s progress

Requirements:• Grade 12 education and two-year interpreting diploma • Six months of relevant interpreting experience • Active membership in interpreting associations • Proficiency in American Sign Language • Valid BC Driver's License
