Join Spirit of the West as a part-time Assistant Kayak Guide this summer. Based in beautiful British Columbia, your role focuses on kayaking instruction and enhancing guest experiences in a stunning wilderness setting.
As an Assistant Kayak Guide, you'll manage on-water groups, ensuring client safety while providing engaging educational content about local history and wildlife. You will maintain equipment, support housekeeping efforts, and stay informed about weather conditions. This role requires a commitment to high hygiene standards and active teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:• Guide groups on kayaking adventures in water • Perform safety and maintenance checks on equipment • Provide rescue and first aid support as needed • Share knowledge of local ecosystems and history • Assist with camp housekeeping and maintenance tasks
Requirements:• SKGABC AOG or equivalent certification • Minimum 40-hour Wilderness First Aid Certificate • Strong practical kayaking skills • Knowledge of the local area’s ecology • Ability to work independently and as a team
