GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will architect, develop, and scale high-performance backend systems powering our Digital Aggregate™ platform. This hands-on role requires strong architectural ability, deep SQL expertise, and experience building data-intensive REST APIs. You will thrive in a dynamic startup environment, contributing to system design and implementation while collaborating closely with our team. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE - Design and implement production-grade REST APIs using FastAPI - Architect clean abstraction layers (domain, services, repositories) - Develop and optimize PostgreSQL data models for analytics-heavy workloads - Write advanced SQL queries (window functions, CTEs, aggregations) - Supporting OLAP-style analytical use cases - Implement workflow orchestration using Temporal or Apache Airflow - Contribute to system performance tuning and scalability strategies - Participate in architectural decision-making - Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS - 4+ years of professional backend development experience in Python - Strong experience building and maintaining REST APIs - Demonstrated understanding of clean architecture and abstraction principles - Advanced SQL proficiency beyond basic CRUD operations - Production experience with PostgreSQL - Experience using SQLAlchemy (2.0 style preferred) - Familiarity with analytical query patterns and OLAP concepts - Experience with asynchronous programming in Python - Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Hatchet, Celery, etc.) - Ability to work independently in a dynamic startup environment DESIRED SKILLS - Experience designing multi-tenant systems - Experience with data-intensive or analytics platforms - Familiarity with AI/ML integration into backend systems - Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) - Cloud experience (Azure preferred) - Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architecture Submit a combined PDF document of your resume, highlighting your relevant experience with a cover letter outlining why you are ready to join our team.
