Physical Hydrogeology
discipline is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Hydrogeologist to fill an existing vacancy within our team and take a key role in one of our
Atlantic offices (Fredericton, Saint John, Sydney, Halifax) . The successful candidate will lead and support a variety of hydrogeological and environmental projects, managing complex projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing significantly to groundwater resource management, contaminant hydrogeology, environmental remediation, and groundwater flow modelling.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and provide senior oversight for field programs, including well drilling operations, installation of monitoring wells, soil and groundwater sampling/monitoring, and geological logging.
Design, oversee, and interpret complex hydraulic tests, including slug, recovery, and pumping tests, to assess aquifer properties.
Lead and manage hydrogeological investigations for various projects, including those related to landfills.
Lead the assessment, design, and monitoring for dewatering projects.
Lead, design, oversee and manage environmental site assessments and remediation projects.
Manage, interpret, and analyze complex hydrogeological data using groundwater flow models.
Lead the preparation of high‑quality technical reports, work plans, and proposals.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring client satisfaction.
Mentor and develop junior hydrogeologists and technical staff.
Contribute to business development activities, including client relationship management and strategic proposal development.
Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in all field and office activities.
Collaborate with project managers, senior hydrogeologists, and other team members.

Commit to self‑development and ongoing learning to stay knowledgeable of industry best practices and advancements in water resources engineering.
Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications
A degree in environmental or civil engineering, environmental or civil engineering technology or environmental sciences
P.Geo. or P.Eng. License, or eligible to apply for within a year
5+ years experience in environmental consulting will be an asset
Strong desire to learn
Strong work ethic with genuine interest in environmental programs and field work
Valid Driver’s License
Experience
Experience working around heavy equipment, including drill rigs and excavators will be considered an asset
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated abilities to work in multidisciplinary team and independently
Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Knowledge in several of: geology, hydrogeology, field procedures, basic chemistry, contracting/construction, geotechnical concerns, geology, remediation, engineering, site characterization, health and safety will be considered an asset
Experience in phased site assessment and remediation and/or hazardous building substances survey will be an asset
Experience with groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, pumping tests, slug tests, data loggers will be an asset
Experience with soil and sediment sampling will be an asset
Understanding of statistical analyses and terms, comfortable completing common statistical procedures properly and can differentiate between similar summary statistics like mean vs. median vs. mode; able to create visual representations or tables to present statistical results from data analyses
Experience in laboratory bottle orders and chain of custody completion will be an asset
Knowledge of relevant provincial, and federal environmental legislation and policies will be considered an asset
Proficiency in AUTOCAD, GIS, Surfer, AquiferTest, AQTESOLV, MODFLOW, FEFLOW or other groundwater modelling software, or database abilities will be an asset
