Description
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for providing Human Resources consultation to client groups in the functional areas of Employee Relations/Engagement, Compliance, Recruitment and Selection, Health and Safety, Performance Management, and Culture Building. This position is also responsible for the communication and consistent application of company policy and procedures. Legal compliance and ethical standards Provides leadership and consultation to Management in the areas of employee relations, performance management, salary and performance review, corrective action and documentation, coaching and development, and policy/legislation awareness. Actively participates in the department’s strategic plan by providing input and consultation on HR issues. HR & Health and Safety Information Management WSIB, and WCB claims management; Change Management Provides consultative support as it applies to performance management and corrective action. Advises on legislative changes and/or trends in HR; ensures ongoing legal compliance with all relevant provincial employment legislation and HR policy; and ensures consistent and fair policy and practice application. Implementation of policy changes. Provides guidance and supports acquisition activity related to the integration of employees, HR systems, and HR processes. Ensures the maintenance of a positive employee relations climate by assisting in development of policies and programs to improve employee satisfaction; support the implementation of activities to assess climate/culture; and the resolution of employee issues through the effective use of open door, and investigation and counselling techniques. Employee Relations & Engagement Promotes the participation in the EOS and ensure sites create action plans around results. Ensures the implementation of the recognition and reward initiatives to improve employee engagement. Provide administrative support for salary adjustments, promotions, transfer, leave of absences and terminations. Recruitment & Selection In collaboration with the Recruitment team implements strategies for recruitment that are inclusive and tailored to the business needs Provides response to HR questions as requested via the company’s website. 4 – 7 years of experience in Human Resources. Post secondary education/certification in Human Resources preferred. Certification in Human Resources (CHRP) is an asset. TRAVEL This role is 100% based in Elora with some travel to Mississauga as needed.
