Job Responsibilities
Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services.
Assess requirements of an establishment to develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
Develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
Negotiate offers from suppliers.
Consult with suppliers.
Train staff.
Review quotations.
Determine contract terms and conditions.
Award contracts to appropriate parties.
Establish delivery schedules.
Monitor progress of delivery schedules.
Contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization.
Internal audit.
Monitor and manage inventory levels, including min/max settings, total stock on hand, and new item introductions.
Review equipment Bill of Materials.
Master data– material master, purchasing information records, source list, machine bill of materials.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, cost reduction, and inventory management.
Review invoicing and prepare purchase orders for invoicing.
Update and maintain records of vendor information in relation to Code of Conducts, Liability Insurances, H&S and Environmental policies to comply with internal and external audits.
Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, economics or related is required.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a purchasing clerk, an administrative clerk or related is required.
Basic knowledge of the automotive industry and/or automotive machinery or equipment is required.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, fast‑paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, large caseload.
Personal suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, organized, team player, time management, flexibility, ability to multitask.
Having a membership in the Canadian Institute, in the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada, in a provincial purchasing management association or having a certification from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) are assets.
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word, MS Office, SAP (FI/CO/HR/MM/OT SD), MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows.
Language: English is required.
Salary $36.41 CAD hourly, 37.5 hours per week.

Overtime will be paid after 40 hours per week.
