Legal Counsel (Chambly)

We are seeking a pragmatic, business‑oriented In‑House Legal Counsel to support the continued growth and increasing complexity of our hospitality and wellness platform. The role will serve as a strategic legal partner to Finance, Operations, Development, and Executive Management, while providing legal support to Human Resources as needed. Key Responsibilities Commercial & Corporate Law - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including management, vendor, licensing, partnership, branding, and technology contracts. - Support corporate governance matters, subsidiary structuring, intercompany agreements, mergers, acquisitions, and integrations. Real Estate & Development - Support leases, amendments, ground leases, development agreements and construction‑related contracts. - Coordinate legal aspects of real estate transactions and financing structures with external counsel. Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Management - Support compliance with hospitality, consumer protection, privacy laws and as needed in health and safety. - Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies. Intellectual Property & Brand Protection - Manage trademarks, brand protection and licensing strategies. - Coordinate filings, renewals, and enforcement with external counsel. External Counsel & Legal Cost Management - Act as the primary internal contact for external legal advisors. - Manage legal budgets and progressively internalize recurring legal work. What We’re Looking For: - Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) - Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or another Canadian law society - A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in commercial, corporate, or business law, in private practice or in-house - Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements - Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and risk management matters - Ability to provide practical, clear, and business-oriented legal advice to a variety of internal stakeholders, including Finance, Operations, and senior leadership - Excellent judgment, autonomy, proactivity, and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a growing environment - Strong business acumen and comfort operating in an entrepreneurial, multi-sector workplace - Excellent communication, drafting, and legal communication skills in French; bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, is considered a significant asset depending on the needs of the role - Occasional travel to the various locations, as required Specifications: - Compensation: based on experience + employee benefits - Permanent full-time position - Work location: Strøm Campus in Chambly, with remote work and travel What Strøm Spa Offers: - Free access to the thermal experience - “Balance” day* - Discounts on Strøm products and services, including up to 50% off massage therapy and esthetics treatments - A schedule that supports work-life balance - The opportunity to contribute to a local company that truly cares about the well-being of its community - The chance to grow within a dedicated, respectful, and welcoming team *Paid day off provided by the company to enjoy the Strøm experience.
