Engineer/estimator Mount Stewart

Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineer/Estimator to join our welding/fabricating team. This role is integral to project planning, cost estimation, and ensuring accurate project execution. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical expertise, excellent negotiation skills, and experience with project management tools. The Engineer/Estimator will collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver precise estimates and support successful project delivery. Duties Prepare detailed construction estimates using estimating software. Develop project budgets by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and scope of work. Utilize Bluebeam for reviewing plans, markup, and collaborating on project documents. Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project requirements. Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of estimates and proposals. Assist in project management tasks including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking. Collaborate with design teams to refine project scope and cost parameters. Support bid preparation processes by compiling all necessary documentation and ensuring accuracy. Requirements Proven experience in construction/steel estimating, preferably with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and project management software. Strong knowledge of welding/steel processes, materials, and pricing strategies. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, team members, and suppliers. Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required. Prior experience in construction/steel estimating or engineering roles is highly desirable.
