Project Buyer– Job Description The Project Buyer will monitor market conditions and purchase when prices are favorable. He will study trends to identify and resolve potential supply chain issues.

Role and Responsibilities

Ensure supply of materials based on customer requirements at the lowest cost while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Early engagement of procurement and suppliers in the product development/manufacturing process as well as monitoring current products in order to minimize overall costs.

Develop and execute cost reduction strategies working closely with Strategic Sourcing Manager.

Ensure a continuous flow of new suppliers for the commodity.

Ensure periodic business reviews with key suppliers.

Collaborate with supply chain team to ensure deadlines are met.

Draft proposals to manage contracts and negotiations.

Liaise with suppliers to ensure that the supply chain is stable as possible.

Evaluate market conditions to mitigate risk, maintain optimal inventory levels, and control costs.

Drive supplier performance, contract effectiveness, collaboration, and integration.

Develop and solicit RFP, analyze submissions, form recommendations for review with Program Management Team.

All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier development.

Growth mindset and passion for learning.

Organized, technically savvy, with a knack for generating solutions.

Understanding of contract language.

Experience in sourcing parts for product development.

Understanding of basic inventory management concepts.

Knowledge of logistics (Incoterms, transport modes, transport times).

Fluency in French and English (suppliers/customers in the United States).

Key Performance Indicators

Willingness to learn.

Excellent organizational skills.

Detail orientation to achieve a high degree of accuracy of technical information.

Team player (collaborative and encouraging).
