Responsibilities

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions

Maintain professionalism in customer service

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Load and unload goods

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

Qualifications and Experience

Required: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience

Physical ability to load and unload goods

Ability to drive straight or articulated trucks

Attention to vehicle inspection details

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Applicant Eligibility

Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary residents of Canada

Other candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit
