Farm Equipment Operator (Chatham-Kent)

Job Summary The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of equipment and machinery essential for our operations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and proficiency with hand and power tools. The Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities - Operate heavy equipment and farm machinery safely and efficiently. - Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. - Utilize hand tools and power tools for various tasks related to irrigation and gardening. - Execute heavy lifting tasks as required by operational needs. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards. - Assist in the irrigation of fields as needed. - Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals effectively. Qualifications - Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred. - Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. - Familiarity with planting and harvesting on a large scale. - Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the shift. - Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. - Basic math skills for performing necessary calculations related to tasks. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
