Part-Time Housekeeping (Blenheim)

Summary The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is hygiene and to ensure the offices, lunchroom, bathrooms, equipment, hallways, and high traffic areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. The focus on hygiene and adherence to company policies and procedures regarding sanitization is to minimize and possibly eliminate the spreading of diseases throughout the farm. Elemental Job Components - Ensure a safe work environment is maintained by keeping them free of debris and slippery, loose mushrooms. - The job involves a lot of repetitive tasks as well as a lot of standing, bending, lifting, and reaching Job Responsibilities - Follow companies Food Safety Plan (SQF Code) i.e. GMP’s, SOP’s - Food Safety and Quality concerns to be addressed with SQF Practitioner - Daily cleaning of offices, washrooms, hands-free wash stations, offices, testing room, lunchroom tables, microwaves, fridges, vending machines and all hallways - Completion of Daily Sanitation and Concentration Checklists - Inspections to be completed at pre-determined times and recorded on checklists - Keep paper towel dispensers and all hand wash stations full, empty trash containers daily Job Qualifications - Able to work quickly and efficiently - Able to lift 10-20 lbs - Able to walk for extended periods of time - Able to stand for extended periods of time - Able to stretch, reach, pull and push as required Hours of Work - The shift begins at 7:00 am – 4:00pm (Hours may decrease depending on production) - Days of work are every other Thursday and Friday and every other weekend - 2 Paid Breaks (15 min.) - 1 half-hour Unpaid Lunch (30 min.) Special Equipment - Steel-toed C.S.A. approved work boots must be worn while on duty. Gloves, hair net and apron are supplied. - Casual clothing (e.g. Blue jeans, track pants, sweatshirts, t-shirts) are generally worn. No cut-off shirts, Tank tops or tops exposing the mid-riff are allowed. Environment This area of the farm is kept at a comfortable temperature through-out the year. The mushrooms cannot get too warm or their shelf-life will diminish. In the winter, some wear quilted vests, jackets, hats etc. At other times of the year, they wear sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. The area is well lit. The job requires you to stand for long periods of time as they perform their job. Rate of Pay As outlined in offer letter.
