Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Working safely using correct warning signs, protective clothing and safety equipment being mindful of hazards. Compliance with the Health and Safety practices on site Ensure all containers of cleaning agents are correctly labeled before use and are used safely and in compliance with manufactures written instructions and that all chemicals are securely stored away when not in use Please be sure all classrooms are stalked on a regular basis Report any damage or none working equipment to the director, arrange for repair or replacement in conjunction with the director Vacuuming all indoor carpets-Also involves cleaning out the filter nightly and returning equipment to usual storage Maintenance of other indoor surfaces involves sweeping, mopping, buffing or polishing. Cleaners will access and use hand held equipment such as brooms, buckets, mops and squeegees, or operate machinery to complete these tasks. It is your responsibility to be sure the mops are clean and left to dry Clean floors under carpets and under and behind shelves and infants cribs on a weekly basis Bathrooms- sinks, taps, toilets, toilet pedestals as well as mirrors need to be cleaned daily in all bathroom areas. You will also be required to make sure paper towels, toilet paper and soap are all full Cleaning windows indoor and outdoor in all areas. Must have all finger prints removed on a daily basis. Cleaner will also assess surrounding internal and external surfaces such as window ledges for cobwebs, mildew dust and marks Dusting ledges throughout the centre as well as heat vents and lights Door handles, light switches and phones need to be disinfected on a daily basis Ensure proper storage and removal of all recycling materials Waste removal from all rooms at the centre need to be emptied on a daily basis. Disinfect basins on a weekly basis.
