We provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to the infrastructure, real‑estate, resource, industrial and government sectors in Canada and abroad. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Environmental Scientist/Engineer within our Contaminant Remediation Group. Locations Based at any one of our following offices: Toronto (Downtown), Chatham, London, Guelph, Kitchener, Windsor, Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, Oakville and North York (Toronto). Responsibilities Manage environmental projects including site assessment and remediation, risk assessment and risk management, and regulatory compliance monitoring Provide technical and professional leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams including engineers, scientists and technologists Design remediation programs or risk management measures for impacted soil, groundwater, and soil vapour at contaminated sites Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, subconsultants, and subcontractors Contribute to the development and coordination of client relationships and business growth Contribute to client/revenue acquisition and internal team growth to deliver the business Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations Business travel upon request Learning & Development Commit to self‑development and ongoing learning and professional development Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications A degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or environmental science, preferably at the master’s level Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist or eligible to be licensed within 6 months Experience with a range of client types preferred (e.g., federal government departments, private industrial clients, municipalities, first nations) Proven Project Management experience A minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience Valid driver’s license Experience Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships Proficient in the completion of one or more of: groundwater resource evaluation, protection and management phased site assessments solid understanding of contaminant fate and transport in the subsurface and the development of conceptual site model remedial options analysis and evaluation remedial action plan development and/or design preparation of detailed designs, cost estimates and tender packages for remediation projects design and implementation of compliance monitoring plans Demonstrated track record of successfully managing environmental projects Demonstrated track record of successfully mentoring and developing more junior staff Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, codes and standards Robust report writing, communication, organization and interpersonal skills Compensation $92,450 - $142,450 Dillon includes the salary range that we in good faith believe may be offered for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
