Job post summary Date posted: April 23, 2026 Pay: CA$18.50 per hour Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Overnight Contractor Watch Guard to monitor and protect our site during non-operational hours. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety of property, equipment, and personnel while managing contractor access and maintaining accurate records. Qualifications: - Be at least 18 years of age. - Be legally allowed to work in Canada. - Be able to pass provincial and federal security background checks. - Have excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Possess a valid driver’s license & own vehicle. - Possess valid first-aid certification. - Previous experience in a similar role preferred. - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task are required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as a team member with a high level of integrity and confidentiality. - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic Duties: - Performs the duties of a Security Guard in accord with post orders and company policy. - Conduct regular patrols of the premises (interior and exterior) at scheduled intervals - Monitor and control access points to prevent unauthorized entry - Sign contractors in and out, verify identification, and maintain accurate visitor logs - Ensure all contractors comply with site rules, safety procedures, and authorized work hours - Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or security breaches - Maintain detailed logs of patrols, contractor activity, and incidents - Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances - Ensure all doors, gates, and windows are secured throughout the shift - Liaise with emergency services (police, fire, medical) when required - Enforce site-specific policies and procedures - Provide clear and professional communication with supervisors and clients - Perform routine site checks (lighting, equipment status, safety hazards) - Assist with incident reporting and documentation as needed - Assess, maintain, and address employee code of conduct compliance. Based on the nature of the industry we accommodate no minimum hours are guaranteed. Work will be scheduled as it becomes available. This is often done days & weeks in advance, but short notice calls for work do occur. These shifts are offered to guards on a first-come basis. Shift schedules include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
