About Us DriveWise is an MTO-certified driving schoolbased in Chatham, Ontario. We are committed to helping new drivers build confidence, competence, and lifelong protected driving habits. We’re growing our team and looking for a dedicated, professional Driving Instructor who shares our passion for quality driver education. Job Summary As a DriveWise Driving Instructor, you will guide students of varying skill levels through the learning process — helping them develop safe, confident driving skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. You’ll have the freedom to set your own schedule and teach in a way that works best for your students, backed by friendly management that values your expertise. Duties - Conduct driving lessons for students of varying skill levels in a safe and controlled environment - Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs and progress - Provide comprehensive instruction on traffic laws, road safety, and vehicle operation - Assess student performance and provide constructive, encouraging feedback - Prepare students for G2 and G road tests by reviewing practical skills and test procedures - Accompany students during G2 and G road tests using your own vehicle (when required) - Maintain accurate records of lessons, student progress, and licensing documentation - Ensure all lessons adhere to MTO regulations and Ontario traffic safety standards - Foster a positive atmosphere that builds student confidence and responsible driving habits Requirements - Must hold a valid MTO-registered Driving Instructor licence (authorised to teach G2 and G road tests) — this is a firm requirement - Owned vehicle available for driving lessons, equipped with a passenger-side safety brake - Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record - Adequate vehicle insurance coverage for instructor use - Strong English communication skills — ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to diverse learning styles - Patient, professional, and encouraging demeanour - Strong interpersonal skills to connect with students of varied backgrounds and experience levels - Prior experience as a driving instructor is highly desirable What We Offer - Competitive pay: CA$32.00–CA$35.00/hr, commensurate with MTO certification and experience - Flexible schedule — set your own availability and coordinate directly with students - Casual dress code, no uniform required - Supportive, friendly management with creative freedom in how you teach - Meaningful work helping new drivers succeed on Ontario roads Driving Instructor – DriveWise Chatham Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Pay: CA$32.00–CA$35.00 per hour Work Location: On the road – Chatham, Ontario How to Apply Please send your resume along with a copy of your MTO Driving Instructor credentials to .
