Estimator – Construction Trade (Chilliwack)

TITLE: Estimator – Construction Trade Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day Wage: Salary $50,000 – $60,000 based on experience Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Chilliwack, BC (1 vacancy) Skill Requirements: Education: Completion of college/university in Computer Sciences, Estimating, and/or other related Technical Training program. The idea candidate would also have knowledge of Project Management tasks and procedures. Requirements: Driver’s license and vehicle; proficient written and oral communication skills, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, computer use, continuous learning. The idea candidate will have a minimum 1 year of construction estimating experience or have a solid understanding of estimating processes and procedures. Main Duties: - Quantity surveying and estimates - Estimate pre-contract costs and utilize quantity take-off procedures - Preparation of estimates with probable materials, labour and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotations, blueprints, schematic drawings, and specifications - Prepare estimates of labour and materials costs, general expenses and overhead with the use of Electronic digitizer, Excel Spreadsheets, and Estimating software. - Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations - Travel to residential, commercial and industrial job sites at various locations throughout the lower mainland. - Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and clients - Liaise, consult and communicate with residential customers, vendors, engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare changes and adjustments to estimates as required - The idea candidate will be adaptable with job duties to accommodate the needs of management If interested, please send your resume to Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o4ch3
