Side Loader Driver Get Paid The Same Day! Chilliwack

Avery HR is looking for Casual/Occasional Drivers to operate a Side Loader Waste Truck (automatic). Day-time hours; covering sick days, vacations, etc. Minimum class 3 license required; previous experience in waste removal preferred. Core Responsibilities Secure Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a side-load garbage truck on specified residential or commercial routes. Automated Collection: Utilize hydraulic joysticks to operate the automated side arm to grab, lift, and empty bins. Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily maintenance checks on the vehicle, including checking fluids, tires, lights, and hydraulic safety equipment. Route Management: Follow assigned route sheets and schedules to ensure all customers are serviced. Waste Disposal: Transport collected materials to landfills, transfer stations, or recycling centers. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and company policies. Customer Service: Interact professionally with residents and address inquiries or concerns. Key Requirements & Qualifications License: Minimum Class 3 license with a clean driving abstract. Experience: Previous experience operating heavy trucks, specifically side-loaders or in the waste industry, is often required (1–2 years preferred). Physical Ability: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as climb in and out of the truck frequently. Skills: Solid maneuvering skills for tight residential areas, ability to use tablets or computer systems for route management. Working Conditions Workplace: Outside, exposed to various weather conditions (extreme heat/cold) and high noise levels. Schedule: Typically early morning starts (e.g., 6:00 AM) and often Monday to Friday, allowing for consistent, local shifts. Physical Demands: Requires lifting, bending, and sometimes manual handling of materials if a container is improperly placed Work today - get paid tomorrow!
