Grounds Maintenance Worker Permanent P/T (Chilliwack)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the functionality of the airport grounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscaping and maintenance, along with the ability to work with various tools and equipment. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to creating well-kept grounds that enhance the overall aesthetic of the facility. Duties - Perform landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. - Utilize hand tools and power tools for various tasks such as cutting, weeding, and mulching. - previous ability in painting, such as curbs and posts. - Repairing fences, replacing signage. - Regularly inspect grounds for maintenance needs and report any issues or repairs required. - Collaborate with supervisor to execute landscaping projects efficiently and effectively. - Maintain equipment in good working condition through regular cleaning, servicing and minor repairs. Requirements - Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred. - Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain power tools and equipment safely. - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while performing physical tasks. - Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. - Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. - Familiarity with gardening techniques, including plant care and pest management, is a plus. - A valid driver's license is required. A criminal history check is required for this position.
