Job Summary Situated in the heart of Chilliwack, and part of District 1881, The Offy Bistro strives to deliver a memorable and one of a kind experience. With two distinct menus, brunch and evening dinner, The Offy brings a diverse offering focused on fun European recipes using Pacific West Coast ingredients. We are looking to hire a Head Chef that will manage our kitchen staff and will be responsible for all kitchen operations. The Chef will attract and retain staff, maintain strong relationships with team members, and will create a people-first, standards driven hospitality culture. It is expected that the Chef will conduct duties in a professional manner and will encourage excellence from all team members. We are looking for someone with culinary passion and a Chef that wants to grow with the Brand! To ensure success, the Chef will focus on ensuring that the team delivers high-quality dishes promptly. Top candidates for this position are creative, service-oriented, level-headed and have experience in controlling costs. Chef Responsibilities: - Oversee the whole Kitchen Department and collaborate with the GM/Owner - Responsible for developing and modifying the food menu and creating feature dishes in accordance to brand standards - Hiring, training and reviewing staff levels to meet service, operation and financial objectives - Performing administrative tasks, completing weekly inventory counts, monitoring and adjusting for food and labour costs - Implementing health and safety policies and examining equipment cleanliness Qualifications/Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in similar position - Solid communication and leadership skills - Ability to understand and control weekly inventory, costs and budgets - Experience with hiring, training and the ability to resolve problems efficiently - Knowledge of current food trends and has the ability to pivot - Experience in creating strong relationships with local suppliers - Culinary Education an asset - Open, flexible, adaptable and have good energy With the growth of The Offy, we are looking for a passionate and creative individual that wants to grow with the brand!
