Painter/Labourer (Cedar Valley)

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Painter/Labourer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing residential and commercial painting projects - new builds as well as renovations, as well as assisting with various carpentry labour tasks on-site including cleaning job sites and material handling. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in construction painting, and using hand and power tools is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in painting and general carpentry. We do offer apprenticeships for willing candidates. Responsibilities - Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and caulking as needed - Apply paint, stain, or coatings to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment - Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during painting and carpentry tasks - Clean and tidy job sites - interior and exterior - Assist with rigging and setup of scaffolding or ladders for elevated work areas - Support restoration projects by performing demolition, surface preparation, and finishing work - Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency - Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards - Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or issues Skills - Proven experience in construction painting, restoration, or industrial painting preferred - Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, and caulking guns - Familiarity with power tools including drills, sanders, and spray equipment - Strong knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques - Basic carpentry skills for minor repairs or modifications on-site - Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively - Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients - Ability to work safely at heights using rigging equipment or scaffolding - Customer service orientation with a qualified attitude This position is ideal for individuals passionate about construction work who are eager to expand their skill set in painting and general labour tasks on an award winning team.
