Empower Indigenous students in Chilliwack, BC, as an Indigenous Summer Learning Teacher with Stó:lō Nation. This special project assignment focuses on English First Peoples curriculum and community engagement.
From June 29 to July 24, 2026, you will deliver curriculum for English First Peoples 11 & 12 while supporting students skill development in a culturally responsive manner. Candidates should have substantial teaching experience and a thorough understanding of educational practices along with a deep respect for Sto:lo traditions. This role emphasizes collaboration with various community stakeholders to advance student learning and well-being.
Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate summer classes focused on English First Peoples • Report on student evaluations and progress • Foster parental involvement in the educational process • Partner with Indigenous community leaders • Differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs
Requirements: • Solid experience teaching summer education courses • Familiarity with the principles of Indigenization • Ability to connect with diverse learning communities • Demonstrated initiative and cooperative spirit • Qualifications relevant to secondary teaching areas
